John Wall Still Pursuing NBA Comeback: ‘I Think Something Will Happen Soon’
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

John Wall hasn’t given up on playing in the NBA again.

Wall told reporters of his desire to return to the NBA while in Melbourne, Australia, visiting the South East Melbourne Phoenix, the team he is a part-owner of.

“I love the game,” John Wall said. “I still get up every morning at 6 am, work out. I’m still dedicated to getting back in. I think something will happen soon. For me, I still love the grind. I still love to get up and put the work in. You just saw me work out for an hour, hour-thirty. No matter what, I still love the game.

“If I still have the hunger and desire to be [in the NBA], I’ll continue to chase my dream to get back in. It’s just being patient, staying ready and just letting God do his work and being ready whenever your name is called.”

Wall appeared in 34 games for the Los Angeles Clippers last season. He averaged 11.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.2 assists while shooting 40.8% from the field, 30.3% from 3 and 68.1% from the free-throw line.

The Clippers traded Wall to the Houston Rockets at the 2023 February trade deadline. The Rockets waived Wall, who wasn’t signed by a team.

Wall has career NBA averages of 18.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 8.9 assists in 647 games with the Washington Wizards, Rockets and Clippers. He has made five All-Star teams, one All-NBA team and one All-Defensive team, all coming with the Wizards.

Wall is represented by Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group, the super agent who represents Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James. It will be fascinating to see if Wall plays in the NBA again.
