Former Wizards All-Star to hold private workout for teams Sunday

Five-time All-Star point guard John Wall is looking for a new home and is ready to audition to find it.

According to Chris Haynes of TNT, Wall will hold a private workout Sunday in Las Vegas for NBA teams potentially interested in his services for the 2023-24 campaign.

Wall spent the 2022-23 season with the Los Angeles Clippers, averaging 11.4 points, 5.2 assists and 2.7 rebounds over 34 games.

The 32-year-old hasn't played much lately, missing two of the last four seasons. Following a trade from the Washington Wizards to the Houston Rockets, Wall missed the entire 2019-20 season with an injury before missing the 2021-22 campaign two seasons later, choosing to sit out over the Rockets' plan to play their youth.

Since 2019, Wall has played in only 74 games, posting 16.3 points, 6.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds while splitting time with the Rockets and Clippers.

The No. 1 pick in the 2010 NBA Draft out of Kentucky, Wall began to come into his own in 2013-14, earning his first of five consecutive All-Star nods while with the Wizards. But injuries and real-life issues slowed Wall down over the last few years.

Following the passing of his mother and grandmother in 2019, Wall tore his Achilles. Wall admitted to contemplating suicide during what he called the "darkest place" he'd been in his life.

But, Wall sought help from a therapist and eventually got his career back on track. Now, Wall is looking to continue his NBA career for a 14th season.
