I do have one question for BJ though.....who's the little b*tch now???
GSP_go4it said February 01, 2009
Tonight you showed who was the man in the octagon and who is the quitter!!! BJ talked a lot of trash before the fight, but you stayed cool and convinced with your arguments inside the octagon. My biggest respect man!! You're a great and really inspiring person and a real person to look up to. Not only your athleticism, your strength but your unbending will and discipline and your respectful and natural character make you a very special person!!
Thanks for kicking BJ's a** and my biggest respect from Germany!!!

The definition of a champion begins with the ability to overcome not just an opponent, but also personal shortcomings in every aspect. The fame, fortune and attention one gets when he is up, on top, is a very good reason for a champion to loose his ground, and become a spectacle/show-off. This is when being a champion requires that inner strength, that only a TRUE ONE can posses, to overcome the superficiality of non-sense.
It's been said that...to get wat you want you gotta put in 90% sweat and 10% talent/genius. Surrounding yourself in a "buble" thinking that you are some sort of a pure genius and you have the ability to use your talent to be the best, it's not just ignorant and self-centered but it will get you to the exact same spot of a spectacle/show-off position . There is little value to a champion when humbleness is overlooked for the benefits of self-importance, which by the way is sustained by a bunch of "yes-men" and a lot of media hype...
On the other hand a TRUE CHAMPION is not a fake, pretending tht he has got to be a champion because he was only winning, he acknowledges defeats and takes them graciously, perseviring with hard work, focusing on goals. When goals are attained, and he is the champion he never forgets to bow in respect towards his beaten opponent, acknowledging his hard work that had gotten him into the changeller's position.
On January 31st, GSP remained the TRUE CHAMPION, winning over BJ Penn and proving again to the world and millions of MMA fans that he is the undisputed, proud welterweight champion of the world.
Je suis fier de toi Georges!

I was truly DISAPPOINTED with how BJ represented the Hawaiian people. He showed so little diginity, especially with his cussing, wanna be bad a** attitude on UFC Primetime Show. Hawaii is suppose to be the LAND OF ALOHA and GSP has ALOT more Aloha than our own Local Boy. BJ didn't stop to THINK about the example he would be showing many of the young kids watching...to me that DOESN'T represent a Prodigy I would want my kids looking up to. If I ever heard my kids speaking such filth on national television and showing an attitude of disrespect, He'd have to get in a ring with me before he'd be able to face his opponent! Didn't Mom ever tell you..."If you have NOTHING nice to say...Don't open your mouth?"
Watching your segment on the UFC Primetime was INCREDIBLE!!! To see how hard you worked throughout the years to get where you are today. Your Ohana "Family" must truly be PROUD of such a FINE Son! No one handed you anything on a silver platter...and you brought home THE GOLD CHAMPIONSHIP BELT!!! No one could have worked harder nor would be more deserving of such a Title then YOU!!!
Regardless of the Vaseline Controversy...BJ without a doubt would have lost! Now it's time to lick your wounds and move on. GSP ANYTIME You come to Hawaii...you'll have us waiting!!! Lots of ALOHA!!!

Georges, this is a huge 'thank you', from fellow Canadians for making us all proud. From Athlete of the Year, to your dedication to your craft, and the respect you always show your opponents (when most of us are disgusted by the absurd trash talk!!)...you are THE MAN!!
Vegas was wicked. You are a champion and Canada is proud of your huge accomplishments!
I think you have re-defined the term 'ripped'... WOW.

IF YOU ARE DEFENDING GSP, YOU ARE HOLDING A DOUBLE STANDARD, LIKE THE PEOPLE WHO BASH BARRY BONDS BUT MAKE EXCUSES FOR GSP. CHEATING IS CHEATING IS CHEATING.
WHY DO YOU THINK THAT THERE IS AN OUTCRY AGAINST HIM AND NO ONE ELSE. IF YOU THINK IT'S A JEALOUSY ISSUE, THEN WHY AREN'T PEOPLE ACCUSING ANDERSON SILVA OR URIAH FABER? OR ANY OTHER SUCCESSFUL FIGHTER WHO WINS WITH CLASS.
GSP JUST WROTE HIS OWN LEGACY.........CHEATER! CHEATER!
Bimmeup replied February 05, 2009
First of all, this is the first time he's ever been ACCUSED of an incident like this. For you to make the statement that he's been doing it in all his fights is ignorant. Believe me, the UFC is watching everything all the time so I'm sure they would have caught something before had it been there.
Secondly, if you watch what happened, it was his one corner man rubbing his traps and talking with him all at the same time. That was it! But everyone is saying his back was lubed up with Vasoline, what a crock. Fighters faces have way more vasoline on them than the little that may have made it onto his shoulders. And then think about where all that Vasoline goes?
The UFC official standing next to GSP saw what had happened and abruptly took a towel and wiped GSP's shoulders a little. I don't think they saw it as cheating either, just accidental.
BJ had no chance in that fight and I like BJ. BJ needs to stay at lightweight since that's where he's quick and at his best. Stop coming on here like a troll to diss on GSP as a cheater unless you can prove without a doubt that he has. If you want to make a statement, then do so in a civilized way. Otherwise, go to the BJ page.
Matt

I have been a fan of yours since the pet sprat fight. I just wanted to say all the allegations people are throwing at you are ridiculous. I have watched the replay of the corner several times and I can see why people are upset. Your corner man does rub your chest and back after applying Vaseline to your face. But lets be realistic even if there was Vaseline on his hands it was a very small amount people are making it sound like you took a bath in it. Second between rounds 2-3 and I assume 3-4, you clearly see the commissioner wiping you with a towel. So what is the problem. When I watched the fight I saw you dominate in rounds 3 and 4 ie not when you were greased up. Where is the foul? People needed to calm down. Some people don't like you so they will find any excuse to hate. You are a great representative of the sport. A classy guy who can rock a suit. This will all blow over after you next fight. Look forward to watching it win or lose. Some fans stick with a guy.

Could you please send out to me one of you bandana's. I would love it so very much as I'm such a supporter of your team It would mean the world to me. I held with me a Quebec Toonie I was given a week before the last fight and put on my fireplace because I was thinking about the tatttoo and the flower. It just came from change at were I work and when I was so excited I showed everyone they said there are many in circulation. It was the only one I've seen and I think It's beautiful. It's still something I look at daily and reminds me of that fight because I was hoping for a VICTORY and It was such a great night..
