The following is an official statement from me and my camp regarding recent allegations:

George St-Pierre's successful welterweight title defense at UFC 94 was the direct result of his disciplined preparation and skillful execution of a masterful gameplan. Any implication to the contrary would diminish the significance of what was perhaps the biggest fight in MMA history.

St-Pierre states: "I have never cheated in my life, and as my fans know, I am deeply committed to upholding the integrity of the sport. My entire camp and I have been completely open about what happened during my fight at UFC 94 ? we have nothing to hide. One of my cornermen did use an energy technique to help with my breathing that involves rubbing my back. He's also done this in my previous fights. If there was any Vaseline left on his hand after he put it on my face, it was unintentional, and I do not believe it made the slightest difference in the outcome of the fight. Of course it's up to the UFC, but I would be happy to offer BJ a second rematch. I am confident the outcome will be the same."

Team GSP is currently enjoying our victory celebration and we will soon turn our attention and focus toward Georges' next competitor ? Thiago Alves.

  I never doubted that you or your team did anything wrong. You won the fight fair and square, and I think it is wrong for people to call you a cheater. You are one of the most humble and talented athletes. Loved hearing you on Sherdog the other night. Poutin is really good!

        To ovwdurant, you know if we try they will take it down in a millisecond. They will have to have a suicide watch for all those brainless sheep, who keep following him down the road of denial and I don't mean the river in Africa.       It's sad for BJ to even make an excuse like that. Phil Nurse took a little bit of vaseline, put it around GSP's eyes and with whatever Vaseline that was supposed to be left over (which is none because it's on GSP's face) he touched a little part of GSP's back and that affected the outcome of the entire fight? His rubber guard was strong minute after being taken down. But GSP kept posturing up, of course he's not going to be able to hold him there. I knew BJ would come up with a stupid excuse. You guys probably heard what he said to Joe Rogan after the first time they fought. He wasn't happy with the judges scoring because he thought he did more damage. Doing more damage in the first round and gassing the hell out in the 2nd and 3rd and not doing anything in those rounds at all doesn't win you a fight. Dana won't give BJ a 3rd fight, and he better hit that gym instead of the beach or get new training partners because Kenny Florian is a monster and he improves every time we see him fight. I doubt BJ can win that fight either.

        Asked if the GSP cornerman was cheating, White replied: "I think he (Nurse) was. I do. I think he absolutely, positively knew that he was rubbing grease on him. I do. Nobody can tell me different. I watched the tape a million times."
        
        White says the greasing was "no different" than the illegal wraps discovered on the hands of boxer Antonio Margarito prior to his recent fight against Miguel Cotto. Margarito and his trainer, Javier Capetillo, both had their licenses revoked for at least a year by the California State Athletic Commission.
        
        "You put another fighter at a huge disadvantage, which is very dangerous," White said.
        
        Mr. White goes on to say
        "Do I think Georges was trying to cheat? Absolutely not at all. But that cornerman was rubbing grease on him. You cannot do that."
        
        Being the owner of the UFC Danas words will carry a lot of weight with the commission.
        Dana Has already stated that something illegal has happened. But he's going to have a hard time separating Georges St. Pierre from the corner because the Penn camp told the commission prior to the fight to watch out for Georges St. Pierre greasing; they didn't say to watch out for Phil Nurse they didn't say to watch out for Greg Jackson. They said to watch out for Georges St. Pierre!!
        
        When the commission steps up and verifies that the Penn camp did warn them about Georges St. Pierre before the fight and no one else. It will be hard for Georges to NOT be tied into his corner.
        
        Analogy
        That is like if someone called the police and said Georges St. Pierre is going to rob a bank and they go to the bank and catch Georges St. Pierre Phil Nurse and Greg Jackson robbing the bank and they only arrest Phil Nurse and Greg Jackson and say that Georges St. Pierre had nothing do with robbing the bank.
        
        Do you think Georges St. Pierre could suffer the same consequences as Antonio Margarito?
        
        The decision may not be overturned but losing half your purse and being suspended for a whole year(may result in revocation of WW title)could definitely qualify as legal trouble.

It's also about knowing body mechanics. And you do know the Montreal Canadians almost have as many championships than the fing Yankees.     Your right there was no doubt that GSP would win but his corner has been known for greasing and it is up to him if he wants to be questioned like this or if he uses alternative cornermen. Jackson has been known to do this and his fighters pay the penalty with a question mark on there record. It was intentional by his corner and I don't hink he needed it but by allowing his corner to do it then he has to accept the questions that come with it. No matter what they say as ritual or anything else it does not mean you did not break the rules.

      GSP did not break the rules if anyone did it was his corner and it was not intentional, also you think GSP during the 40sec or so would be concentrating on what his corner is do or is he going to concentrate on beating up on Penn? During the GSP fight did you see him talk to his corner and tell them what to do or did you see him try to control his breathing during the little time he had to rest? You stated it yourself GSP would still win the fight so the rules are modified and hopefully this won't happen again and so GSP did not break the rules if anybody did it was his corner and that is it.

The actions of your team are above reproach as far as I am concerned and you absolutely won the fight by your own hard work and diligent practice. Anyone thinking otherwise is a fool. I hope you and your team will be able to relax and have a wonderful time; you all deserve the rest. I speak for all your fans in saying that we support and respect you.     I am sorry, but it is foolish to believe that anyone is above reproach for we are all human beings battling our own, weaknesses, temptations, and demons... and we do not always win.
    
    In the end, I think a re-match needs to occur - to eliminate the shadow if impropriety.

      Shouldn't you be asking his cornerman rather then him? Lets be honest if you wanted to blame someone blame them not GSP. One other point they be it Nurse or Jackson was only confronted with this fight not the any other ones if they were confronted before then they will need to show proof of wrong doing by providing video evidence. So at this point his corner is only accused of one wrong doing be it intentionally or unintentionally that is debatable, so they only broke one rule this time not several times. If you are going make an argument on Penns behalf make it a fair one.

      I was at the fight and would gladly attend a rematch, if the commission/UFC determines it is necessary.
      And when Georges says he would 'be happy to offer' a rematch I can't help but wonder how "HAPPY" BJ Penn would be to accept such an offer, given the beating he suffered in Vegas.
      Regardless, YardbarkerSUX may have his doubts about the outcome of a rematch, but he is one of a handful of people who exemplify a 'sour grapes' mentality...

      I agree with YardbarkerSUX. I'm not a Penn fan, but I do admit that Penn wins a lot of his fights on the ground and can fight well on his back. If part of his strategy was to fight a ground game, then GSP's team did not play fair.
      
      It is true that Vaseline does not make you win a fight, but it does increase your odds of winning. Much how like steroids do not make you hit a baseball, but it can make the difference between warning-track-power and a homerun.
      
      The argument that GSP would have won anyway is not the point. It is that his team did not win in a legal fashion, which is a poor example for young fighters and not fair to anyone who fights or gambles on fights. It is also not valid to state that GSP did not cheat, his cornerman did. It is concidered a team effort, which is why the Nevada State Athletic Commision watches all cornermen, not just the fighter.
      
      To the untrained eye the grease might not look like much, but every grappler knows the effect that it has. Being able to apply your submissions and sweeps or just being able to hold on to your opponent to defend yourself from being hit is absolutely critical! There is a reason why you are not allowed to put grease anywhere on your body except for the area around your eyes. Because of the grease applied to St.Pierre's Body the Nevada State Athletic Commission's executive director, Keith Kizer has stated that the Penn-St. Pierre fight "definitely wasn't fair".

        BJ Penn has NEVER submitted anyone of his back in the UFC!! His submission of Matt Hughes was a RNC that he set-up with heavy striking. BJ is simply looking for another payday without having to earn it. I think it's shameful that GSP has been accused of cheating or that his win was tainted. Neither is even close to being true. BJ Penn needs to prove that he is worthy of fighting GSP again!

First your statement makes it look like GSP could not have won the fight off of his training, strength, techniques and overall game plan. You give no credit to him at all, by your statement that he won the stand up and ground game due to the residual amount of Vaseline not even an amount equal to the tip of a finger. Just them clinching standing up and grappling on the floor will spread at least 50x that amount around the body for the 4rd's that they I mean GSP fought because Penn did almost nothing. Could it be Penn didn't prepare proberly and was overwhelmed by GSP because we all can see he did.

    a rematch? That makes no sense at all. The greasing was illegal but it had no decision ont he outcome. BJ may have gotten lucky with a submission but the chance was minimal. I think this is more of a this kind of action has to stop thing rather than a what if thing. If it was a closer fight then fine I would be all over a rematch but GSP was obvioulsy a better prepared athlete for this fight. With that said though I want to see GSP vs. Silva

  Georges doesn't need to prove himself AGAIN, this is exactly what BJ's camp want. When I read the headline this week about those allegations. I was surprised of such a move. I would not have expected such a sorry reason. I applaud Georges' maturity, and self-reflection. To become better you need to reflect on what YOU did wrong...not point the finger at someone else. Georges' skills and hardwork played to his victory on Saturday. When you work hard, you see the fruits of your labor. Plus, when you "talk" too much, and spend your energy bad mouthing your opponents...KARMA gives you a reality check. Anyone can talk, but only Champions deliver ---- great athletes become legendary not only because of their track record, but also for their professionalism and class.
  
  Note to Georges - would you consider writing a note about yourself - what you like, dislike, favorites, interests, etc. - if not you can always just send me that information in a personal note lol. Although MMA is a big part of your life, I KNOW there has to be more to you.

  BJ didn't deserve a title shot in the first place at 170. If Anderson Silva has to prove himself at 205, why does BJ get a pass at 170 and go straight to a title shot? When he fails miserably, he gets another pass? The fans deserve a better script. The greasing script is as tired as BJ Penn in round 4.
  
  Buy a home in Brazil and use it during the winter months to stay focused and sane.

    I agree. Why is it that BJ gets a title shot as soon as he moves up to 170, but Anderson Silva (the best pound for pound fighter) has to prove himself. I think it has to deal with favoritism.

  Georges...I never had a doubt about the alligations!! They showed the breathing technique on the jumbo-tron and Nurse did NOT have globs of vaseline on his hands. Just another way for BJ to blame his on something other than himself. Maybe he should take a page from your book and TRAIN HARD!!! He has shown the world how much of baby he really is and it's time he chalks your win up to you just being the better, more trained fighter!!

So you know I really had no worry in you beating bj, but I tell you that had to be the most dominant performance I've ever seen a fighter have over a nothing top fighter.   vaseline is the only escape goat of your opponent.i saw your fight.from the very beginning he seemed slow and confused, thats my personal opinion.he seemed tired, again thats my personal opinion.you really dominated the fight until the stoppage.vaseline is not the issue here. you really fought hard!!!with your training and self discipline, from the very beginning i know you will win! though BJ PENN is a respected MMA FIGHTER, too, well in a game there is always a winner and a loser.MABUHAY KA GSP!!!!!!

  This is a case of someone who was invested in BJ's corner trying to slander GSP. GSP took BJ appart and it should have been embarasing to BJ to have that happen to him. I think he needs to move back to his weight class not only because it was shown that 170 is not his weight, but he HOLDS the 155 title....... The fighters in that class deserve a chance to fight for that belt. If BJ wants to fight at 170 all the time then so be it. Give up your 155 belt and fight a few to 10 people and if he wins he can take another shot against GSP.

  Clearly the controversy with the Vaseline was an accident by Georges' camp and really a non-issue. I mean the Nevada Athletic Commission was clearly in the ring in their little red coats wiping GSP down every round! Everyone in multiple countries saw them clear as day. So what Vaseline, then? I think it is garbage BJ and his camp would point fingers at your camp to save his reputation. I mean if that is the only thing he can do to save face after a total annihilation by GSP, well it is just sad on BJ's part. I personally believe he would never accept another fight with GSP. He just wants to cry "cheat" so there will always be a question....but really the MMA fans are VERY clear on what happened. A bigger, stronger, more intelligent fighter was in the ring and he unquestionably won the fight. GSP is a world Champion and a class act! I am looking forward to the Thiago Alves match next up :)

  A rematch would put an end to all this bull about the vaseline, but it will not do either fighter any good. We need a good 155 and 170 lbs champion, and we have allready established who both of them are.
  BJ will loose again and i give BJ a 1 in 8 shot at beating GSP if BJ comes in as good of shape that GSP is in. With that said, BJ has basically no chance.

After re-watching the fight, I could see that you were moving forward and posturing up which is why BJ could do anything. I read on the MMA blog site that I frequent that he accepted your offer. I will bet money that Dana will not waste money promoting another fight between you two after the last one. I guarantee the next step will be him talking even more smack saying that you're ducking him.   You're victory should not be soured just because BJ and his camp are sore losers. Seems to me that his camp is always trying to call out somebody after they lose a fight. It can never be that their opponent just trained and prepared better, can it? BJ did the trash talking while you remained classy, and now he's having a little trouble swallowing all of those razor blades your trainer spoke of. Those of us who saw that fight saw BJ burn out by the 2nd round. You did what you do, and that's smash your opponent. Maybe he won't be taking a vacation days before his next fight.

  I can only laugh at this accusation. I stated time and time again before the fight that no matter the outcome, if BJ were to lose, which I knew he would, there would be some sort of excuse as to why he lost. I am truly sorry for the headache that this has caused Georges, but I saw it coming a mile away. There are always sore losers in every sport, and BJ Penn has proved that time and time again. The only way to combat such allegations are to fight only great fighters who fight fair and win gracefully. I don't think that is possible. There are no other fighters as tactful and honest as Georges. So let's just remember that God never dishes out more than you can handle, and in time, this too will pass. Congrats on the hard work and glorious win!!!! Practice doesn't make perfect, PERFECT PRACTICE makes perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You continue to prove that and I couldn't be more impressed.   BJ never should have decided to fight in another weight class, especially to fight the best in the UFC!!! As a die hard GSP fan, the fight looked pretty dominated to me and I believe that if a rematch occured (though BJ doesn't deserve one) the outcome would be the same, but even worse for BJ. BJ never even had a chance to get his hands on GSP in order to "slip" off of him. GSP fans know and support that RUSH is a very honorable person and does "uphold the integrity" of the sport 100% he's THE BEST!!! HAVE FUN IN L.A and continue celebrating your victory!!!

I just don't think he was as prepared for your athleticism as he thought he was. He's a great lightweight and should just put his concentration there.   WoW! There is some major controversy going on here! vaseline huh? last i heard, vaseline could not stop take downs, nor could it block punches! Vaseline on George would not have stopped the smack down that GSP handed Penn. If you watched the fight you would know that! seriously! By round 2 Penn was totally gassed! Why can't he just be a man and accept defeat? Ow thats right, its because he thinks he has to make good on all of that smack talk he was spouting before the fight. There is nothing more that i hate than a big mouth who wont admit when he is wrong! George has admitted his faults and worked through them. He did not moan about vaseline to attain a title. i agree with the guy who wrote that BJ should fight about 5 other 170's and if he is still breathing, then maybe he can have another shot at GSP. I think he spent more time trash talking than training. I'll give my props to BJ, he didn't quit, but he got the beatdown. Anyone else hear GSP's interview on Sherdog.   The only thing I can say here is this; despite the loss BJ is still a great athlete. Yeah he ran his mouth to sell tickets. Think about this; BJ is a natural 160LB'er any cardio he could have done to prepare for the fight, his body would have just burned it off. There are ways to prepare for a gain like this, but obviously those methods werent used. As far as a rematch goes, I agree with a post earlier. BJ needs to come up the welters again vasoline, NGC ruling or not. He wasnt in this fight at all. Its irresponsible of Dana to allow a second rematch when there are a ton of guys in the welters that deserve a shot. GSP if you want a challenge, gain to middle weight and fight Anderson Silva. He's a great fighter, but he's ranked higher pound for pound. If you want to be known as pound for pound the best fighter in UFC, you're gonna have to go through Silva for that title. If you wanna be ranked pound for pound #1 in the world, you're gonna have to go through Fedor. I have a ton of respect for GSP and Penn, but I dont think a rematch is good for the sport at this point.

  I am trying to undestand something... If the vaseline was such a big issue in the fight... Why didn't you say something during the fight ? Why didn't your corner mention anything to the ref ? Why didn't you mention it to Jo Rogan after the fight ? Why didn't you go to the post fight press conference ? Why did the commissioner let GSP fight if he was "illegal" ?
  You also mentionned on prime time that you would be too fast for GSP "You can't hit what you can't catch" ... what happened to your speed ? Was it because of the vaseline ? GSP had no problems punching you in the face !!! He was even able to superman punch you (how embarrassing!)
  You refered to yourself as being GOD !!! WOW, if you are GOD, the human race is in BIG TROUBLE !
  If you are stupid enough to fight GSP again, make sure your brother brings a white towel to throw in the middle of the 1st round !

You're right to show exasperation at B.J.'s unwillingness to give you props (for those of you who don't know, B.J. implied that the vasoline hindered his performance significantly and called GSP out for another re-match). I've already chastized B.J. for running his mouth (because this is not becoming of a true MMA professional), but everyone knows that all the talk is irrelevant. Both of you have other title defences coming up, so you need to focus on those. I say, if he wants to have another shot later, give it to him. Let your actions speak louder than words, as you always do.

  I would probably get beat down for saying this, but I'll take the risk since I'm a GSP fan--all the way. I am from the same island in Hawaii as BJ Penn, and I was rooting for GSP anyway. I think that Penn could have been a little bit more humble during the whole Primetime thing, and I think that it's not only George's athleticism, but his humble personality that makes him an asset to MMA. Regardless of the allegations, I do not think that it would have made a difference in the outcome; GSP is a better well rounded fighter, and he proved it. I may be from Hawaii, but I'm all for GSP :) I know they say BJ can put his head behind his legs without using his hands--he should probably try to put his foot in his mouth!!

  GSP, I'm happy to see you aren't letting a poor sportsman and inferior fighter tarnish your victory. You're a true champion. The only thing BJ is diminishing is himself, and he's giving other egotistical, sore losers such as Matt Hughes a chance to make excuses as well. Folks like that will always have a superficial and very loud following. It saddens me to see MMA news dragged down to the level of gossip columns delighting in vapid nicknames (hey, even Obama had to deal with 'fist bumps' and 'honeymoon' talk, then there's 'Brangelina'), but I imagine MMA will increasingly be filled with true aficionados of martial arts, petty fans, and everything in between as it grows more popular. Enjoy your celebration, you earned it, and you make Bruce Lee's spirit proud. :)

  Congrats on your win! That was a display of total domination. But why did you resort to cheating? Even without the aid of the vaseline you still could have passed his guard and pounded him. It would have taken a little more work and time but you didnt need the vaseline to defeat and dominate BJ!

  BJ Penn just went to a new low, on one of there news station in Hawaii they reported that Penn's lawyer wanted Penn to get a rematch an if not he wanted a full investigation and if found wrong doing want's GSP to be suspended GSP not his cornerman be it Nurse or Jackson. First Penn didn't even deserve a title shot now he wants another one after he got beaten like he was a amateur. The only funny thing I found during the broadcast was the newsman had to cough before saying there will be a rally for BJ Penn the next day or something, even the newsman had to show his disapproval of that. So so so low for Penn, how can any fan respect that?

    I agree with you. I think all the Athletic commisions should get together and make one set of rules. California's are way tougher than Nevada's especially when it comes to vaseline/lubricants

  GSP - I'm not sure if you will read this comment, but if you do I hope you take some sort of pride and integrity from it. You are by far the most talented athlete in MMA. To extend that even further, I believe that you are the most talented athlete in all of sports today. Essentially, you have become my modern day Michael Jordan in terms of athletes. I respect all the hardwork and dedication that you devote to the sport. I find it rather shameful that the incident noted above has even been given as much attention as it has. It seems to put a dim light on what should other wise be one of the greatest victories in MMA. You have more than shown that you, maybe second only to Anderson Silva, are the best P4P MMA athlete in the sport. I personally believe that you have the ability, the tenacity, and the desire to become the greatest of all time. Of course only time will tell, but a victory such as this can only solidify that even more, and it's a disgrace that BJ Penn would make a deal out of what was clearly a non-issue. I hope that you atleast understand the somewhat 'severity' of the issue so as to insure that it doesn't happen in the future, but clearly from the footage and the outcome of this fight it was not an issue and in no way effected the outcome of this fight. You've got nothing to worry about from your fans, as we are always there on your side. I look forward to your upcoming match with Thiago Alves, and can't wait to see your continual improvement.

  I have no interest in seeing you two fight again. I would rather see you two fight other opponents. If BJ can string together a few wins, then maybe he can earn another shot at you. Until then, he should be quiet and accept defeat graciously.

  Congratulations on your victory over BJ Penn. Although you had a win over him a couple of years ago - nobody has EVER dominated him like you did in your last fight. It didn't matter if it was stand-up, clinch, takedowns, wrestling, ground and pound, submission defense... You put it all together and he had nothing for you that night.
  
  It was obvious who had improved more as a fighter during GSP - Penn 2. I understand that Penn is disappointed and is looking for reasons why he didn't perform the way he hoped he would.
  
  But don't let any of this get you down. You won that fight. You stopped him. He gave up and quit. He could have come out for Round 5, but didn't, and he can't make up any excuse for that except that he didn't want it as much as you did.
  
  Feel proud, take a vacation, man, you deserve every bit of it. It was an amazing fight.

  I thought your fight was spectacular and to give BJ Penn's excuse for his loss more thought than it deserves is unnecessary. He should have to train and win two fights and earn a fight to get to you like anyone else. He is as poor a loser as he is a poor winner. We all seen the same fight, and even if there was a vaseline accidently rubbed on your back, it wasn't going to help him considering he spent the whole fight trying to get off his back. I believe, at my house, we were all joking about how he kept trying to crawl onto his belly to crawl away from the beating you were giving him. So, unless the vaseline was on his back and that was why he couldn't crawl away..............don't take away from your training or the training your team gave you.

  To the untrained eye the grease might not look like much, but every grappler knows the effect that it has. Being able to apply your submissions and sweeps or just being able to hold on to your opponent to defend yourself from being hit is absolutely critical! There is a reason why you are not allowed to put grease anywhere on your body except for the area around your eyes. Because of the grease applied to St.Pierre's Body the Nevada State Athletic Commission's executive director, Keith Kizer has stated that the Penn-St. Pierre fight "definitely wasn't fair".

    What the hell is this? Did Penn make you come here and make yourself look stupid. You basically just watched the fight though those gif's that where posted by Penn's nutthuggers, if not then you need to re watch the whole fight. Any Vaseline that might or might not have gotten on GSP back was unintentional and it wasn't GSP rubbing his own back you blind retard. I can really see why there are so many Penn fans, you don't have to be educated or have basic common sense to be a Penn nutthugger. Also you state you respect GSP for giving Penn a rematch which in the first place he didn't deserve, second had no answer for GSP at all during the entire fight and last but not least didn't once himself out of his own mouth give credit to GSP for being the better fighter not one single time. You can honestly state you lost respect to someone who live life with respect for everyone he meets in every day life and the people he fights in the cage, that fine with us real people because we don't need that type of worthless respect. Go back to Penn's sack I can hear him calling you because he's getting cold down there.

  I really have to add something to my previous posts - I'm re-watching this fight, and I'm trying to watch it very closely. By the end of the 2nd round, BJ looks absolutely wiped out. The excuse that he can't hold onto Georges because of vaseline on his back is moot, because all I'm seeing BJ do is grab GSP around the neck, and that isn't even where Nurse rubbed on him.

  see the problem with BJ penn fans is they are just as delusional as BJ... whinning, crying, complaining but for no reason BJ got rocked... GSP was passing his guard with or without a tiny tiny smear of grease HIGH up on his shoulders, look at GSP's positioning in BJ's guard he always had his arms in between BJ's legs so BJ wasn't even getting his legs up around GSP's neck , GSP is too strong for BJ, also i've never seen BJ finish anyone from his back in the UFC, especially no GSP... so give it up

  Still watching this fight - Nurse has a small amount of vaseline on the back of his left hand and applied it to GSP's face, then rubbed his chest and back, briefly. IMMEDIATELY after you can see the NSAC rep grab a towel and wipe Georges off. So after REALLY watching this fight over again, all I can say to BJ is "Get the heck over it". He's got no leg to stand on. Georges dominated that fight fair and square!!!

  BJ Penn showed up for UFC 94 looking like a soft Hawaiian sausage - his new ring nickname should be "The Apology"; besides, he's getting a little long in the tooth to still be called "The Prodigy", n'est ce pas? My husband and I are huge fans of yours and all the other QUALITY fighters and champions - not the whiny little sour-grapes crybabies who blame their losses on imaginary factors or other people instead of their own "shortcomings"! BJ should go back to the kiddie pool where he belongs and beat up the lightweights again - he was outclassed, outdone and WAY out of his league with you! "Pride goeth before a fall" - and BJ should spend more time improving his cardio and training and less time talking smack! He has too much to be humble about to describer himself as "God", for Heavens' sake!

  I was so looking forward to you victory "blog", to read all about you analysis of the fight, and the great celebration afterward, it's too bad this has been overshadowed, but more disappointing to me is that it undermines the integrity and professionalism that you work so hard to bring to this sport.
  Anyone who saw the fight knows it was won by superior athleticism, ability, training and dedication. And in spite of what he might say, I don't think BJ Penn is very eager to get back into the octagon with you ever again!!

  All this controversy cuz BJ coudln't throw a high guard in the fight? Does anyone have any idea how hard that is to do with no gi and when you opponent is as strong as gsp, everytime BJ throws that high guard you can see gsp either posturing up or lean forward, ofcourse his guard would slip, it has no grip tht way. And it's not like BJ has ever done a proper high guard. Ever. Just look up all his fights, he's never submitted anyone off his back and he's never done a high guard properly before.

This is the real story, because he has just lost to GSP, who he called a little b*** for tapping against Serra. Now, if he loses to Kenny Florian, we're all going to find out that BJ really isn't the legend he thinks he is. GSP, please make him get in line to fight you. Make him earn another shot just like everyone else. Stick him in the ring with Thiago Alves and John Fitch, after you win, and see how he lasts.     Asked if the GSP cornerman was cheating, White replied: "I think he (Nurse) was. I do. I think he absolutely, positively knew that he was rubbing grease on him. I do. Nobody can tell me different. I watched the tape a million times."
    
    White says the greasing was "no different" than the illegal wraps discovered on the hands of boxer Antonio Margarito prior to his recent fight against Miguel Cotto. Margarito and his trainer, Javier Capetillo, both had their licenses revoked for at least a year by the California State Athletic Commission.
    
    "You put another fighter at a huge disadvantage, which is very dangerous," White said.
    
    Mr. White goes on to say
    "Do I think Georges was trying to cheat? Absolutely not at all. But that cornerman was rubbing grease on him. You cannot do that."
    
    Being the owner of the UFC Danas words will carry a lot of weight with the commission.
    Dana Has already stated that something illegal has happened. But he's going to have a hard time separating Georges St. Pierre from the corner because the Penn camp told the commission prior to the fight to watch out for Georges St. Pierre greasing; they didn't say to watch out for Phil Nurse they didn't say to watch out for Greg Jackson. They said to watch out for Georges St. Pierre!!
    
    When the commission steps up and verifies that the Penn camp did warn them about Georges St. Pierre before the fight and no one else. It will be hard for Georges to NOT be tied into his corner.
    
    Analogy
    That is like if someone called the police and said Georges St. Pierre is going to rob a bank and they go to the bank and catch Georges St. Pierre Phil Nurse and Greg Jackson robbing the bank and they only arrest Phil Nurse and Greg Jackson and say that Georges St. Pierre had nothing do with robbing the bank.
    
    Do you think Georges St. Pierre could suffer the same consequences as Antonio Margarito?
    
    The decision may not be overturned but losing half your purse and being suspended for a whole year(may result in revocation of WW title)could definitely qualify as legal trouble.

  Ce qui a été prouvé hors de tout doute, c'est que Georges St-Pierre a de la classe. Si Penn a besoin d'être vaincu 2 fois par St-Pierre pour admettre son infériorité, soit.   I think GSP's corner did him wrong. The interview with Dana says it best.
  I know it's really the Nevada Athletic Commission, not the UFC, that is conducting this investigation, but how concerned are you about the incident with Vaseline being rubbed on Georges St. Pierre's body?
  It's one of those things. His corner man -- you can clearly see -- when he puts the Vaseline on his face, he rubs his hands on his shoulders and rubs his chest and back. You cannot do that. You can't do that. It's illegal. You have to wipe your hands off. It is what it is. I'm sure the commission looks at that.
  
  In no way shape or form do i think Georges St. Pierre went out to cheat. I think his cornerman f**ked up. That's what I think. Do I think it had a huge impact on the fight? No, I don't. But it's illegal. You cannot do it. And I think the cornerman's in trouble. That's what I think.
  Great fight on GSP's part. Did the cornermen screw both fighters. YES 100%.
  They may have got there victory but they tarnished GSP in th process. The antics were not required, if BJ got a lockon GSP which is doubtful but can happen then so what. It's like a lucky punch.
  The corner screwed up and I don't care how much expalining can go on it does not help GSP rise above the facts. We all knew it was going to be a win unless BJ got lucky but too bad the corner came up with a plan to ensure the victory. There job is to help the fighter and give him tips when in the ring not fight his fight for him.

  I wonder if GSP could take a similar beating like BJ got from him. I would like to see if he were still standing after a couple of un-blocked punches to the head and face. Would GSP's jaw be able to handle and eat all those punches? Remember when BJ got his arm trapped against Matt Hughes he yells at him "C'MON" while getting punched in the face repeatedly. The question is can he take a beating. Let me call up Matt Serra.

    Taking a beating like that requires getting your a$$ whooped and ultimately lose the fight. That is what happened to bj after all he just wasn't able to come back after that. So I ask you why would a fighter want to eat all those punches like bj. It would be different if bj actually won but he didn't, he lost pretty damn bad.

    Why would you need to call Matt Serra just read or watch one of GSP interviews where his clearly states why he would not want to take a prolonged beating. Do some research before posting an uneducated oppoion such as yours. Any MMA fighter or any fighter from any other sports will tell you its better to stop a fight when you are in real trouble and not take any more unnecessary punishment that may cause irreversible damage to the body or brain, like I stated before on one of my other post that it is fine to have balls to take a beating but it takes brains to know when you are beat. I think your just still mad your boy Penn got his A$$ BEAT like never before and it wouldn't have look as bad if your boy Penn didn't make all those stupid remarks to GSP and his friends during the Prime Time show "Pride" its a hard pill to swallow, especially when you can't answer the bell for the fifth round. We know you are trying to question GSP manhood but isn't it part of being a man is to know when your beat and man up and give credit to the person who beat you like GSP did with Hughes and Serra giving them credit and clearly seeing it was his mistakes that cause him his loses and not his opponents. The real question is not if anyone can take a beating its a question if your man enough to know when your beat and admit when your beat and give credit to the person who beat you, then train your a$$ off get better prepared then come back in the cage and bet the S#%t out them in the rematch. You want a real example of being tough watch GSP vs Fitch, Fitch got his a$$ beaten in a one sided fight for five rounds and he gave credit to GSP for beating him. Fitch is not even one of my favorite fighters but he got my respect, took the five round like a man gave credit where credit is do and went to Thailand to train his Muay Thai for it was one of his weakness and recognized it not like Penn who couldn't see he needs real hard training to build his strength and cardio not just rely on his techniques because we see how that worked out.

    One more thing because your friends with Matt Serra and your going to call him anyway, can you ask him if he think GSP used Vaseline on his second fight because I re watched there second fight from the begging to the end where he got his a$$ beaten in a one sided fight as well like GSP vs Hughes II,III, GSP vs Fitch, and GSP vs Penn II, the only reason I am mentioning only those is because those were title matches. I want to know if he have any excuses as well, from what I watched he was taken down like it was nothing in the first round and the only thing Serra could do was hold on for dear life in half guard then toward the end of the of the round to closed guard. The second round pretty much the same thing but GSP was able to show Serra some really nice striking from the feet with jabs and kicks.

      Asked if the GSP cornerman was cheating, White replied: "I think he (Nurse) was. I do. I think he absolutely, positively knew that he was rubbing grease on him. I do. Nobody can tell me different. I watched the tape a million times."
      
      White says the greasing was "no different" than the illegal wraps discovered on the hands of boxer Antonio Margarito prior to his recent fight against Miguel Cotto. Margarito and his trainer, Javier Capetillo, both had their licenses revoked for at least a year by the California State Athletic Commission.
      
      "You put another fighter at a huge disadvantage, which is very dangerous," White said.
      
      Mr. White goes on to say
      "Do I think Georges was trying to cheat? Absolutely not at all. But that cornerman was rubbing grease on him. You cannot do that."
      
      Being the owner of the UFC Danas words will carry a lot of weight with the commission.
      Dana Has already stated that something illegal has happened. But he's going to have a hard time separating Georges St. Pierre from the corner because the Penn camp told the commission prior to the fight to watch out for Georges St. Pierre greasing; they didn't say to watch out for Phil Nurse they didn't say to watch out for Greg Jackson. They said to watch out for Georges St. Pierre!!
      
      When the commission steps up and verifies that the Penn camp did warn them about Georges St. Pierre before the fight and no one else. It will be hard for Georges to NOT be tied into his corner.
      
      Analogy
      That is like if someone called the police and said Georges St. Pierre is going to rob a bank and they go to the bank and catch Georges St. Pierre Phil Nurse and Greg Jackson robbing the bank and they only arrest Phil Nurse and Greg Jackson and say that Georges St. Pierre had nothing do with robbing the bank.
      
      Do you think Georges St. Pierre could suffer the same consequences as Antonio Margarito?
      
      The decision may not be overturned but losing half your purse and being suspended for a whole year(may result in revocation of WW title)could definitely qualify as legal trouble.

  I am sure that the UFC would love for a re-match between Penn and GSP because it was their #1 selling paperview (beating out the last De La Hoya fight). But I also feel that if they make a rematch then they are implicating GSP as a cheater--of which he is not! I think they should make Penn fight Thiago and the winner of the two will get a shot...that's what they did when Matt Hughes held the belt....why not now? I understand that the UFC wants to make money, but for GSP to have to prove himself is just wrong!

  As GSP has stated, he fights for himself. All of the attention this is getting is likely to have little impact on him psychologically. The research (and pray tell do your own please) I've performed is indicative that the amount of Vaseline left from his cornermen would have had no effect on the outcome of the fight. Keep fighting for yourself Georges, you are a remarkable champion.

  The fact of the matter is that GSP kicked BJ's butt vaseline or no vaseline. If the vaseline was such a big deal they should've taken points away from George or stopped the fight. BJ needs to man up and admitt he lost by the best ,not to mention HOT GSP. It's ashame that GSP couldn't fully celebrate his well deserved victory. GSP you're awesome dude!
